Thank you for being here. It’s been a journey just to arrive at this beginning — the moment where I’m finally putting thoughts, feelings, and ideas into my own space that feels right. This blog is the next step in following my calling as a creator of art and media, and I want to share a bit about how I got here, why I started this blog, and what it’s all about.

If you know me, you know I’m not one to post frequently on social media. Over the years, I’ve grown disillusioned with its limitations — the word count, the overstimulation, the performative nature of it all. For me, it lacks depth and reflection. That’s why I created this blog: a slower, more intentional space where I can pause, reflect, and express. It’s mine — not part of an endless feed — and you’re invited to linger here with me.
The seed for this blog was planted in 2019, when I officially decided to pursue writing as more than a hobby. I’ve been writing since I could string coherent thoughts together — starting with journal entries at 12, then poetry in high school. Studying creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College deepened my love for writing through free verse, slam poetry, and language as a tool for discovery.
I wanted to write professionally, but I faced one big question: What kind of writer am I? The possibilities were endless: technical writer? Copywriter? Screenwriter? I explored, interviewed other writers, and took my time sorting it out. Eventually, I realized what felt most true: I love long-form writing. I’m drawn to blog posts, essays, podcasts, books, and media that explore ideas in depth. And I knew I wanted to write about what I care about most.
Through reflection, I found my core themes: art and creativity, faith and spirituality, health and wellness. These have shaped who I am and continue to be the places where I find healing, meaning, and purpose. But I’ve also discovered tension and complexity between these themes and the parts of my identity, leading to deep questioning.
Can I be both Jewish and Christian? How do I stay true to my faith and remain curious and open and a tad rebellious? How can I be a healthy, whole person of faith while also being neurodivergent and queer? Can I integrate Eastern wisdom and practices like yoga and meditation while remaining rooted in Christianity?
At the heart of it all is a bigger question:
How do we live intentional, authentic, and meaningful lives that move us toward wholeness? How do we navigate life’s inevitable changes — transitions, losses, awakenings — with grace and clarity?
These questions, and so many more, have led me on a journey of reconciliation, integration, and growth. I still don’t have all the answers, and I don’t know if I ever will. But I invite you to join me on this journey as we discover it together.

I know I’m not alone in asking these questions. While my story is uniquely mine, I believe it resonates with others, especially those who haven’t seen their identities or questions fully reflected in faith communities or creative spaces. That’s why I’m starting this blog. To share my voice, yes, but also to help create more space for voices like mine.
So here I am — a queer, neurodivergent creative on the margins of the Church and the mainstream. I can’t speak for everyone, but I do speak from experience. This blog is my offering — my drop in the ocean of the internet and my own coming out.
I’m not your average follower of Jesus. I come from a Jewish background and write from a post-deconstruction, LGBTQ+ affirming perspective. This blog will likely speak to you if you:
- Come from a Judeo-Christian or spiritual background
- Are curious, questioning, or reconstructing and reimagining your faith, spirituality, and the Church
- Seek a holistic approach to life and well-being, one that incorporates the interconnectedness of the mind, heart, body, soul, and spirit
- Value personal growth, reflection, and authentic living
- Are a creative, artist, or appreciator of the arts
- Identify as LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or feel outside the “mainstream”
- Crave nuance, beauty, and truth, even when it’s complex
Through sharing my story, tools, reflections, and the wisdom of others, I hope to offer something nourishing: inspiration, insight, and encouragement for your own journey. I believe stories connect us — they build bridges where division once stood and invite us to imagine new ways of being.
I hope you will join me in growing and expanding our understanding together. If you’d like to get updates every time I post, you can join the list at the bottom of the page! Peace be with you.
I am delighted to see you moving forward with this and look forward to reading more.
Thank you Ellen! I appreciate your support, it means a lot. I just published a new post today 🙂
